What I liked about this book: Walden is an old friend. I first read it when I was seventeen years old. I admired Thoreau's message of simplicity and the way he could abandon everyday society to a fulfilling life by the pond. There were times I wished that I had the courage to do the same. Now as I read the work again, I am picking up more of the subtle nuances that I had missed due to youth. It is a wonderful rediscovery.

What I disliked about this book: Same as when I was seventeen. The nineteenth century English is a little heavy at times.
