The recent birthday of Douglas Coupland and some comments exchanged with fellow bloggernaut Cedia have prompted me to start reading this book again.
What I liked about this book: I first read this book in the nineties when I was an indentured serf at IBM. It captured the hopes and dreams of the programmers working around me. We all wanted to strike out on our own, make a mint in the dot com bubble, and retire early. This book captures that feeling in a nutshell.
What I disliked about this book: The way it reminds me, through no fault of its own, that the boom went bust, and that I'm still an indentured serf for someone else. But that's my mid life crisis. The book is still a good read.
